Our planet’s animals hoped we’d be their friends and yet they lie dead or dying
The rainforest sees no rain but there’s water in the tears of a guilty world crying
Ravaged, damaged, tortured and stained, what has this greed-ridden world done now?
Politicians shift uneasily in their chairs with a collective furrowed brow
If it’s not the pollutants we ship into our seas it’s the greenhouse gases reducing the freeze
And now in the rainforest the fires blaze with merciless speed
Because of all the warnings we heard, but still failed to heed...
